ACCI questions RKMH
ITANAGAR, Nov 02: Taking serious exception to the attitude of doctors of R K Mission Hospital, the Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries (ACCI) today questioned whether the hospital, run by a philanthropic organization, was meant to serve the people or for its doctors to run business.
Following receipt of complaints that some doctors were diverting patients even from
the pay clinic of RKMH to their private clinics for earning easy bucks, ACCI wanted
to know those who wanted to be rich overnight should take a different route, not
the noble profession of medical. When the hospital has received grant-

Out of the 20 JEs (EM) only 2 are Mechanical Engineers, where 17 JEs are from Electrical department.

Kena leaves for New Zealand

BSNL cable damaged
ITANAGAR, Nov 02: The BSNL telephone cables have been heavily damaged during the drainage construction work along the national highway in Itanagar. Telephone cable of size 800 pair and 400 pair have been damaged at various locations thereby affecting 800 customers of ESS Sector, Nirvachan Bhawan, Ganga and secretariat areas. Full efforts are being made to restore the faulty telephone lines. The BSNL requested its esteemed customers to bear with them.
Student volunteers donate study materials to DPM school
ITANAGAR, Nov 02: Student Volunteer Tabom Dugi from Don Bosco College, Julli alongwith 10 volunteers from Dera Natung Govt. College visited the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired today and donated various study materials, such as Scrap books, note books, pens, geometry box, Chart papers to its children.
Tabom and his team were overwhelmed by the academic performance of the students. Tabom extended his thanks to the management of Donyi Polo Mission, especially Gegong Apang, who founded both the school for the differently able children.
H. Sharma, Principal of school while expressing his gratitude to the student volunteers said that such kind of support from the benevolent groups and organization not only benefit the less privileged children but also boost their morale.

Meanwhile, Wancho Students Union (WSU) blamed the security forces for their alleged failure to protect the life of people and their properties. It appealed to the Govt to provide food and shelter the people who lost their properties and houses. Such incidents of infighting have been going on in Chasa, Borduria and Ozakho villages for last one week, but the authorities ignored it, the union said and appealed to the Govt take immediate steps to bring back peace in Longding district.

While elaborating his “temporary exile” from the BJP, Rijiju said he was under tremendous mental and political pressure after his defeat in last Lok Sabha election by a negligible margin of little over 1300 votes. Rijiju also tendered apology to thousands of his supporters and BJP workers for “this kind of dishonesty,’ and hoped that he would work for the party and nation with renewed vigour with the support of the people.

In his address, MP Takam Sanjoy said higher education is the path finder of a lucrative career for a student. Therefore, he said students must take their higher education seriously.
Sanjoy also said that the days are gone when parents and peers forced students in selecting a career sometimes even if it was not to their liking. He appealed parents not to force their wards to choose a particular profession but give them the freedom to choose their own.
Pointing out that there were hundreds of professions and careers to be chosen from these days, he called upon the youths to take up sports and games if they have the talents seriously. Take action against school land encroacher: APPDSU
ITANAGAR, Nov 02: All Papum Pare District Students’ Union (APPDSU), in a release claimed that the newly constructed boundary wall of Govt Middle School Bassarnallo has been damaged by some persons with vested interested with the intention to encroach the school land.
Describing the incident as shameful, APPDSU demanded the district administration and deputy director of school education Yupia (DDSE) to take serious note of the complaint lodged by the VEC chairman of the school and take strict action against the person(s) involved in the demolition of the boundary wall and give the culprit(s) exemplary punishment as per law.
APPDSU also appealed, especially the general public of Sangdupota circle to discourage such kind of activities which may create bad precedence in the area.
The people should also protect the schools from encroachers for future development.
The Union further urged the authority concerned to take action against the contractor responsible for the collapse of the Poma Bridge and restore it before the next monsoon. Any delay in restoration of the bridge would cause hardship to the people of the other bank of the river.

Arunachal needs good quality roads
Dear Editor,
Despite the road connectivity works in Arunachal Pradesh started way back in 1972, we are still deprived of good roads and proper road connectivity till date. The Govt of India pumps in huge amount for road construction/renovation in every financial year. Accordingly open tenders are being floated and contractors from other states get the contract works. But the contractors do not maintain quality works and in some cases, they withdraw from the road project without completing it.
Therefore, I request the chief minister to give serious thought on construction of good quality roads in our state with involvement of local contractors.

Cooperatives crucial allies in fight against hunger

The FAO chief said that his Organization was committed to fostering the growth of agricultural cooperatives, including through appointing special ambassadors for cooperatives to spread the word and by developing approaches, guidelines, methodologies and training tools on organizational development and policy support.
He called on his audience to contribute to the global plan of action that will emerge from the International Year of Cooperatives, perhaps by assisting less advanced fellow cooperatives in developing countries.
Pauline Green, President of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), also stressed the importance of increased participation of the people in the decision making process.
"Whether you are in the UK, Brazil, Kenya,Thailand or Nepal, cooperatives help to generate employment, boost national economies and reduce poverty," he told.
